Local Park and Playground Development
Radcliffe Wyee will soon enjoy a local park within the estate, as well as the new Lake Macquarie Council’s sporting complex located nearby, with both commencing construction in late 2025. The Radcliffe Estate park will be located off Soreina Drive, Wyee and will be connected via accessible paths linking all areas of the estate.
Radcliffe Wyee Local Park and Playground Design
The 5718m2 of dedicated space for the local park and playground will contain trees for shade and amenities, as well as providing lawn embankments for social gatherings and picnics. Tree planting locations will be provided to shade the playground (i.e. planted to the north) and minimise the risk of branches overhanging the play equipment. The playground will feature softfall ground, solar access for shade in summer, access to sun in the winter and state-of-the-art equipment.
The Park’s Equipment:
- is required to be fun and encourage adults and families into the play area
- have high value play activities that encourage the user’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development
- include structures for climbing, sliding, rocking, swinging, spinning and balancing
A range of equipment is to be installed to meet the key needs and abilities of children and will be approved by Council’s Asset Management Department.
The Public Reserve Kick and Throw Area
The public reserve kick and throw area of 4734m2 will be adjacent to the local park and playground. Maintained for residents to use for recreational purposes, the public reserve will be the perfect location for an outdoor morning yoga class or a friendly game of touch footy, this area gives an open space gathering option for everyone to enjoy.
Radcliffe Wyee Child Care Centre
Planning is underway for a new Child Care Centre. The proposed Centre will accommodate up to 125 children and includes 33 on site carparks. We are expecting the Centre to open late 2026. The Radcliffe Wyee Child Care Centre will provide an early learning environment facility, that will offer quality care and education for the children of Radcliffe Wyee.
Lake Macquarie Sporting Complex
The new larger Lake Macquarie sporting complex is being designed to cater for the area’s expanding needs and will now include two sports fields, amenities, car parking and the potential to host other sports facilities, such as tennis and netball courts, all located in Wyee. Both the new sporting facilities and the Radcliffe Estate will be linked by a multi purpose pathway.
